Online Programs

Online Programs

ICDS, with Universidad Latina de Costa Rica, provides students the opportunity to learn about sustainable development and culture in Latin America through an immersive program of interactive coursework, critical thinking, and collaboration. The goal of our Winter and Spring online programs is to offer students the opportunity to dive deep into specific topics regarding Health, Sustainability, Social Justice and to help students acquire an in-depth knowledge of these topics and develop cultural awareness, civic engagement and strides towards global citizenship through exposure and immersion into the Costa Rican way of life. With both online program options, students may take the amount of courses desired, from one to all of the offered courses.

ICDS will complement both the Winter and Spring online programs with a two-three week optional practical experience here in Costa Rica filled with enriching cultural activities,  site visits and field trips that highlight the culture and history of the country. This experiential learning component, happening in June and July 2021 will provide exposure to some of Costa Rica’s initiatives in terms of protected areas, ecotourism, sustainable agriculture, food and water security, renewable energy, and urban sustainability. Students will visit extraordinary places and enjoy ecotourism, learning from experts and professionals about the Costa Rican green experience, all while experiencing Costa Rica’s language and culture.
